Dr. Mertol Gökelma, an expert in the extraction, refining, and recycling of metallic materials, has joined our faculty. We welcome him and wish him success.

After completing his undergraduate education at Dokuz Eylül University, Dr. Mertol Gökelma received his master’s and doctorate degrees in the field of Metallurgy from the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (RWTH Aachen) University in Germany in 2013 and 2018. After working as an instructor and researcher at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) between 2018-2020, he worked as a visiting researcher at IZTECH under the TÜBİTAK Outstanding Researchers program. Dr. Gökelma is working on the recovery of aluminum, titanium, silicon, magnesium, and rare earth elements by different methods.
