Program Objectives and Outcomes
PO1 Advanced knowledge in mathematics, science, Materials Science and Engineering; ability to apply theoretical and applied information in these areas to model and solve complex engineering problems and materials systems.
PO2 Understanding of the science and engineering principles of the structure, properties, processing, and performance of materials systems.
PO3 Skill to identify, define, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems; ability to select and apply suitable analysis and modeling methods for this purpose.
PO4 Skill to design a complex system, process, device, or product under realistic constraints and conditions to meet specific requirements and to select appropriate materials; ability to apply modern design and material selection methods for this purpose.
PO5 Skill in selecting and using modern techniques and tools needed for analyzing and solving complex problems encountered in Materials Science and Engineering applications; ability to use information technologies effectively.
PO6 Ability to design and conduct experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret results using statistical and computer methods to investigate complex engineering problems or research topics specific to Materials Science and Engineering.
PO7 Ability to work effectively in disciplinary and multidisciplinary teams and individually.
PO8 Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; knowledge of at least one foreign language; ability to write effective reports and understand written reports; prepare design and production reports; make effective presentations; and give and receive clear and understandable instructions.
PO9 Consciousness about the necessity of lifelong learning, the ability to access information, to follow developments in science and technology, and to continuously renew oneself.
PO10 Acting in accordance with ethical principles, awareness of professional and ethical responsibility, and information about standards used in engineering applications.
PO11 Knowledge about business practices such as project management, risk management, and change management; awareness of entrepreneurship and innovation; knowledge about sustainable development.
PO12 Knowledge about the effects of Materials Science and Engineering applications on health, environment, and safety in universal and social dimensions, as well as the problems of the era reflected in the field of engineering, and awareness of the legal consequences of engineering solutions.
